The international airport of Munich is the second largest airport in Germany after the port of Frankfurt and at the same time the seventh in Europe in terms of the number of passengers served. The port is located approx. 28 km northeast of the city centre and has been operating since May 1992. In honour of the long-time Bavarian Prime Minister, it was named Franz Josef Strauß. Munich Airport is an air base, among others, for Lufthansa airlines. This modern airport serves mainly dozens of regular airlines and several low-fare carriers, you can with fly them to any part of the world.
In 2015, the Munich airport served them close to 41 million.

By bus
The Munich / München airport is connected to the city / region with many city and suburban bus lines. The airport is also connected to many cities outside of Bavaria with long-distance Flixbuses. All buses stop at the station opposite the Munich Airport Center, between Terminals 1 and 2.
By rail
From Munich to the airport there are running two lines (S-Bahn) S1 and S8.

The airport is connected with four exits with the Munich-Deggendorf A92 motorway: Flughafen München, Freising-Mitte, Freising-Ost and Erding. Coming from Munich towards the airport, follow the A9 motorway (from the Neufahrn motorway interchange) A92 towards Deggendorf, exit Flughafen München or via B11 or B13 from Mittlerer Ring and A92. From Passau via the B388 or A 94i FTO. From Deggendorf, Dingolfing and Landshut, the airport can be accessed via the A92, Erding and the Flughafentangente Ost (FTO) bypass, or the A92, Freising-Mitte. From Nuremberg and Regensburg via the A9 and (from the intersection of the Neufahrn) A92, exit Flughafen München. From Augsburg via A8, A99, A92, exit Flughafen München.

48°21'27"N, 11°47'02"EIn front of the terminal 1 there are underground car parks from P1 to P4 for short-term parking and car parks from P6 to P8 for long-term parking. P20 car park (from 5th day increased parking fee), which are located in the immediate vicinity of terminal 2. P26 parking for short-term and long-term parking is located next to the Kempinski hotel. A parking place is worth booking online. That way, you can not only choose it, but also benefit from special prices. In all underground garages, as well as in these multi-storey buildings there are parking spaces for the disabled. There is also no problem with spaces for electric and hybrid vehicles. An interesting feature are places designed exclusively for female drivers who are located near the entrance to the terminals. Cash machines intended for parking fees accept all typical means of payment: Euro coins, banknotes up to 50,00 EUR inclusive, credit cards (American Express, Eurocard, Diners Club, Visa) and eurocheque cards. The coded card is returned as a receipt when the gate is opened. When parking with a credit card, simply insert the card into the appropriate post slot at the entrance and park the car. After returning there is no need to go to the checkout, the credit card opens the exit gate.
Information – there are many information points at the airport, and the service in them is multilingual; there is also tourist information.
Disabled – the airport is adapted to the needs of disabled people and, if necessary, offers assistance.
Gastronomy – there are many gastronomic points within the terminals: bars, restaurants and cafes.
Shopping – both terminals offer a wide assortment of goods, including duty-free shopping.
Finances – you can use the services of a currency exchange point, banks and ATMs.
Car rental – eight companies provide services in this field at the airport. Their offices are located in the main hall of Terminal 1.

Children – only in the area of Terminal 1 there are rooms with changing tables; Children from 3 to 10 years old can play for free at the Air Berlin-Kinderland (next to McDonald's and the Edeka store). For younger children, there are play areas in the public area.
Chapel – at the airport in Terminal 1 on level 05 there is the Christopher ecumenical chapel
The observation deck – located in Terminal 2 on level 07, is open daily from 8: 00-22: 00.
Internet – wireless Internet access covers the entire airport area. In addition, there is also a special point with access to the network.
Others – Casino Royal is open in Terminal 1 every day from 8: 00-13: 00; in Terminal 2, many airlines provide VIP lounges.
